Is it too crowded to trek in Sapa

I heard Sapa and the whole region was getting more and more crowded with tourists lately. Do you reckon Sapa and its surrounding villages are so filled with tourists that it reached an annoying level? (I know, everybody finds different things annoying…but still)

Sapa is indeed very popular with local and foreign tourists, and the local minority people are very much used to see tourists. I think it will depend on the time of year as well. I was there in early January, and the New Years crowd had just cleared out the day prior, so I found it a quiet time.

Sapa is still a very charming small mountain town that is well worth the visit if you have enough time.

However it is best too avoid during the summer and week-ends though.
